Mary was born January 12, 1962 in Rocksprings, TX to Felipa and Enrique Rodriguez. She was their third child of eight. Raised in the Panhandle of Texas, the family grew up on a farm. So, Mary helped in raising animals, crops and gardens. The children always had enough for a sports team no matter what they played. But they also were bonded and always took up for one another no matter the size. Mary attended school in Dimmitt. She worked as a Para Professional for Dimmitt ISD for over 20 years.
Mary married at a young age to Geronimo Larra. She had four boys. Those boys were her pride and joy. She worked hard for her boys and made sure they had what they needed. Mary loved to watch her sons and now her grandchildren in all they did. She loved to go shopping with her sisters and daughter in laws. She loved to go to Mervyn’s early on Saturday mornings. She was probably one of those that started the “Open, Open” saying when Mervyn’s Department Store was here. She was a strong, devoted and loving sister, daughter, mother and grandmother. Mary will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by one brother, Richard Rodriguez.
Mary is survived by her four sons, Jerome (Debbie) of Hereford, Johnathan (Julie) of Amarillo, Jordan (Natalie) of Amarillo, and Jason of Dimmitt; husband, Geronimo of Dimmitt; parents, Enrique and Felipa Rodriguez of Dimmitt; siblings, Janie, Enrique Jr., Linda, Vel, Isidro and Randy; grandchildren, Alexis, Annice, Juliet, Joshua, James, Jace, and Jackson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nieces/nephews.
