Janie was born March 1, 1951 in Amarillo to Jean and Dorothy Howell.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Janie is survived by her daughter, Cindy Peterson and husband, Shawnun of Amarillo; three sons, Clint Braddock and wife Susan of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Jason Braddock of Kansas and Justin Braddock and wife Stephanie of Amarillo. Two sisters, Irene Norris of Amarillo and Kathy Simmons of Kansas; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
