Gay Nell (Burton) Graham

Gay Nell Graham, 67, of Amarillo passed on August 25, 2022.

Gay Nell Burton was born on November 19, 1954 in Electra, Texas to William and Edith (Kirk) Burton. Gay spent her childhood in Electra, Texas with her parents “Red” and Edith; along with her siblings Lynda, Glenda, Brenda, and Larry. Soon after graduating Electra High School, she met Johnny Graham and they began their life together. The married on September 1, 1975 and would spend their life together raising their children Sean and Mary in Amarillo. She was a member of First Free Will Church of Amarillo.

Gay loved to craft anything from sewing and knitting, to making purses from kool-aid packs and let’s not forget all of the things she made with duct tape.

She has 5 beautiful grandchildren that all loved and adored her. Gay participated in the Boys Scouts and Girls Scouts while her children were growing up. One of her favorite things to do talk with her sisters on the phone. Everyone blessed to know her in life loved her because Gay was a kind soul that simply couldn’t turn a blind eye on someone in need.

Gay is preceded in death by her parents Red and Edith and brother Larry. Those left to cherish her memories are he beloved Johnny of Amarillo, daughter Mary Ainsworth of Amarillo, son Sean Graham of Amarillo; sisters Lynda Kimbro, Glenda Hernandez, and Brenda Fitts all of Electra, Texas and her beloved 5 grandchildren.
