Elvia Villanueva Ortiz, 71, of Amarillo passed away in her home on September 1, 2019.

Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2019 at St. George Catholic Church, 304 Crockett St., George West, TX. Memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Pawnee, TX. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home, Amarillo.

Elvia was born February 22, 1948 in Pawnee, TX to Dionicio and Tomasa Villanueva. She enjoyed being with family and her dog, Blondie. Elvia loved music and games (we all know what kind of games) and was very much loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dionicio and Tomasa Villanueva; 2 brothers, Tomas Gomez and Dionicio Villanueva, Jr.; and grandson, Christian John Garza.

Elvia is survived by her children, JoAnn (Ernest) Echevarria of Amarillo, Aurtho Garza, Jr. (Ellen) of Borger and Eddie (Olivia) Garza, III of Amarillo; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Anita Thomas of Olton, TX, Elisa Garcia of Seguin, TX, Elida (Seferino) Serna of Pawnee, TX, Guadalupe Sheffield of Victoria, TX, Antonia (Rene) Longoria of Aransas Pass, TX, Genoveva Ponce of George West, TX, Domingo Villanueva of Kennedy, TX, Leonides (Alice) Villanueva of Kingsville, TX, and Elvira (Esteban) Alaniz of George West, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
