David G. Loza , age 81 of Amarillo died on October 18, 2020.
Rosary will be said at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur St. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 2, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1210 SE 11th with Father Jose Gomez as celebrant. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.
David was born January 5, 1939 in El Paso, Texas to Lorenzo and Antonia Loza. David graduated from Price College in Amarillo. He was an active member of OLG where he served as an usher. He married Martha Loza on October 7, 1967 in Amarillo. He was employed by Sears Roebuck & Co for 45 years. David affectionately known as “Welo” was devoted to his family. After retirement he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and traveling with them.
He enjoyed spending time with his brothers eating breakfast with Richard and working with Johnny as much as he could. David lived his life to fullest and enjoyed conversation with those around him. He brought his love of Notre Dame football and golf to his family. His smile was contagious and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Loza, his parents; brother Phillip Loza and sister Tanya Morales.
David is survived by two daughters, Vanessa Eaton and husband Leric, of Lubbock and Valerie Delavigne and husband Matt of Gilbert, AZ; two brothers Richard Darnell and wife Dorothy and John Darnell and wife Mary Lou both of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Jaiden, Jizelle, Leric David, Jarah, Matthew, Brielle, Katherine and David; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
The family suggests memorials be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in lieu of flowers.
