David Armstrong

December 15, 1971 ~ February 4, 2020 (age 48)

David was born to Mike and Carol on Dec.15, 1971 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Tx.

When David's mother died on September 6, 1973, he spent the next 4 years with his Clark grandparents in Amarillo, Tx. Then his father remarried to Susan and they took David and Tsunako to live in Wichita Ks., and soon welcomed a new baby sister Janelle Marie.

David graduated with Honors from West High school in 1990. He worked in Wichita for a  few years then came back to Amarillo to get reacquainted with his Texas relatives.
After a couple of years he decided to join the Army in the medical field and went to basic training in San Antonio. After finishing basic training, the Army was scaling down and he was released from Active duty.  He completed his service with the Army Reserve. He was a Veteran of the Gulf War.

He started working in a nursing home, all the time continuing his education to become a Certified L.V.N., which he completed in May 1996. He traveled around working in nursing homes, hospitals and assisted living centers before settling in Sacramento, California.

He was a very competent nurse who was very compassionate and always did whatever he could for his patients and co-workers. He was also a great teacher, in infectious control and classes in his profession.

While in Sacramento David volunteered with the Kiwanis club from 2009 to 2015, being Camp Nurse, to Club Treasurer 2014 to 2015, Past President 2013 to 2014, he was the  Adviser to the students at Florin High school. He also would help the young men and women to get their lives back on track.

David came back to Amarillo in  2016 to be closer to family.  David fought his second battle of cancer, with everything he had and passed on Feb. 4, 2020.

David is survived by his father Mike and wife Susan of Amarillo, sister Tsunako Kruse and husband Kent, of Lincoln, Neb., sister Janelle Morse and husband Jeremy of Houston, Tx and many neices, nephews and cousins.

Thank you to Harrington Cancer center, and BSA Hospice of the SW for all you have done for David.

The Armstrong family would like to thank Trisa and Richard Cysewski of Sacramento for the blessing that you have given us, from the bottom of our hearts.
Though sometimes  it may seem as though we have reached the end of our road, once we turn the bend, we can see that the journey continues.  Love to all, David
