Clinton Lewis Struchen, 76, of Amarillo, died on Sunday, July 23, 2017.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 27, 2017 in Angel Funeral Home’s Chapel of Angels, 2209 S. Arthur, with Chaplain Jon Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Honors provided by Volley’s for Veterans. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur.
Clinton was born on March 15, 1941 to Archie and Dorothy Struchen. He married his wife Lea Ellen on July 14, 1963 in Amarillo. She preceded him in death on April 26, 2007. Clinton was a veteran of the United States Air Force and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 39 years. He truly loved things like metal detecting and prospecting for gold. He enjoyed playing the lottery and gambling at casinos. One of his biggest obsessions was the Dallas Cowboys.
Clinton was known to be feisty and a fighter. This could be seen in his will to live. He was also known to be a jokester and a kind-hearted man. Clinton would do anything for a family member. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lea Ellen Struchen; his parents; and one sister, Selma Brockett.
Mr. Struchen is survived by two sons, Dan Struchen and wife Cindy, and Matt Struchen and wife Melanie, all of Amarillo; one brother, Jerry Struchen and wife Shirley of Girard, PA; four grandchildren, Ian Struchen, Zoe Pitts and husband Chase, Erica Lindow, and Thomas Frost, all of Amarillo; and four great-grandchildren, Emily Miller, Haiden Lindow, Skylar Pitts, and Levi Pitts, all of Amarillo.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 26, 2017.
