Celia (Ochoa) Mariscal, 85, of Amarillo passed into the glory of God the Father on November 23, 2021.
Rosary will be said on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 6pm at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur St in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 10am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 4122 S. Bonham in Amarillo with Father Alvin Tshuma presiding. Services are entrusted to Angel Funeral Home.
Celia was born on July 11, 1936 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Alfonso and Florentina (Guillemard) Ochoa. She graduated high school in Mexico and relocated to the United States in the mid-90s.
Celia was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and was steadfast in her faith. She was a caretaker by trade and cared for many family members throughout her life. She worked many different jobs mostly in the customer service industry. Celia loved to sing, especially as she played her accordion.
Family was a huge part of Celia’s life. She adored the time she spent with them. Her sense of humor shined through every room she was in. Celia loved to goof off and joke with everyone she was in contact with. Celia loved life and lived it lightly.
Celia is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and brother Armando Ochoa. Those left to cherish her memories are her beloved daughter Gabriela Pastrana and granddaughters Marlene and Samantha Altamirano. She also leaves her sisters Alicia and husband Jaime, and Martha and husband Hector; brothers Alfonso and wife Maricarmen, and Leonel and wife Nina.
