March 6, 1961 — February 8, 2017

John Glenn Williamson, 55, of Pampa, TX passed from this life in the early morning hours of February 8, 2017 to be with the Lord and loved ones gone before.

John was born to John Gatha and Hazel Louise Williamson on March 6, 1961. He grew up in Odessa, TX and graduated from Odessa High School in 1979. He married Ruth Ann Hawkins on August 14, 1989. He worked in the Oilfields of West Texas, New Mexico and Durango, CO. for all of his adult life. In 2015, his career took him to Pampa, TX. He loved watching football, baseball and Nascar, but really enjoyed rooting on the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys. He loved a good joke and enjoyed sitting around and telling stories about his experiences with family from the past. He had an extremely quick wit, loved to play cards and dominoes and was often the life of the party. His greatest attribute was being a Papaw to his three grandchildren, they were his world.

John is preceded in death by his father, John G. Williamson; his paternal grandparents, Lee and Thelma Williamson; as well as maternal grandparents, Glenn and Lorene Davis; and his mother in-law and father in law, Hattie Ruth and Bill Hawkins.

John is survived by his mother, Hazel Williamson of Odessa, TX; wife of 28 years, Ruth Ann Williamson; his daughter, Jennifer Williamson of Pampa, TX;  son, Joey Williamson and daughter in law Beka Williamson of Odessa, TX; two grandsons, Jonathan Dale and Jarrett Lee of Pampa; and granddaughter, Brooklyn Rey of Odessa, TX; his brother, Mark Williamson and wife Amy of Odessa, TX; sister, Leona Colling and husband Tony of Odessa, TX; sister in law, Ronda Dickerson and husband Leo in Crowley, TX; a brother in law, Randy Hawkins of Fort Worth, TX; brother in law, John Hawkins, also of Fort Worth, TX; eight nephews and three nieces; three great nephews and one great niece; many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.

The impact John made on his loved ones is immeasurable. He will be greatly missed.

To fulfill his final wishes, there will not be a funeral service for John. Instead, there will be a private memorial service for family and closest friends on Saturday Feburary 18th at the home of his mother in Odessa TX. John wanted his life to be celebrated and relived by his loved ones telling stories and laughing, cherishing memories. He could not bear the thought of being mourned or to have the ones who loved him most surrounded by sadness.

Honorary Pallbearers: Justin Williamson, Shon Colling, Tyler Colling, Jason Dickerson Michael Malloy and Brance David.
